Realized I was the loud neighbor for 2 years, here's what finally clued me in

I always blamed the guy next door in Austin for blasting music at 11pm, then one night my own window was open and I heard my TV show echoing down the street. Turns out my subwoofer was sitting right against the shared wall, and the bass traveled way worse than I thought. I borrowed a decibel meter from a buddy for $30 and measured my living room at 70dB while I was just watching sports. Now I've moved the sub to the opposite corner and added a rug, but I still cringe thinking about how many nights I kept that guy up. Has anyone else found out they were the problem neighbor and how did you make it right?

Did you mount that sub on anything to isolate the vibration from the floor? I found out the hard way that even moving it to a corner doesn't help much if the bass is still vibrating through the frame of the house. A cheap pair of isolation pads made a huge difference for me after I realized my mistake.
