Picked the quiet side of the duplex, now I'm getting blamed for HIS dog barking
Chose the unit with the shared wall facing away from the main road but that also put me right up against the neighbor's yard, and now after 6 months of him letting his lab howl at 6 AM every day, three people on the street told me to muzzle MY dog that doesn't even exist, has anyone else had the quiet option backfire like that?

Wait, so did any of those three people actually see you outside with a dog at any point, or did they just hear barking and pick the unit that faces the yard? That's what I can't wrap my head around, how nobody questioned why the lab is always tied up by the fence while you're walking around with nothing on a leash... Like, did you ever just flat out ask them, "which dog, exactly, have you seen me with?" because their answer might tell you if they even know what your dog looks like or if they're just guessing based on the noise direction.

Six AM sharp, every single day, like clockwork. That's the part that gets me, how people will just assume the problem dog belongs to the person who looks most annoyed by it... I had a neighbor once who blamed me for a parking dispute that wasn't even mine, just because I was the one who complained about the noise first. You're probably the only dude on the street who's actually said something about the barking, so now you're the easy target. Tell those three people to come over at 6 AM and stand in your living room with you, then ask them again who the dog belongs to. They'll change their tune real quick when they see the empty leash and the lab prancing around the other yard.
