My neighbor's teen told me his band practices 3 times a week and I actually felt bad for being mad
I live next to the Johnsons in Springfield and their kid started a garage band about 6 months ago. I was ready to call the cops every Thursday night at 9pm when they'd start up. But last week I ran into him at the mailbox and he told me they've been saving up for a real practice space for months, but it costs $600 a month and none of them have jobs. He said they only practice 3 times a week because their drummer's mom got tired of the noise too. Made me think... maybe I should just buy some earplugs instead of getting angry. Has anyone else had a neighbor situation where talking to the person actually made you change your mind?

Oh you're gonna feel bad until it's 9pm on a Tuesday and you can hear the same 3 power chords rattling your windows for the 47th time. Garage bands are like puppies they're cute for about a week and then you're just dealing with noise and smells. The kid's story is sad but here's the thing that $600 a month practice space they're saving for? That's what they SHOULD be spending their time figuring out, not making YOU suffer while they "save up." My old neighbor's kid had a band and they "only" practiced twice a week but it was always at 10pm and they SUCKED for like 2 years straight. Talk to me when they're actually good enough that the noise might be worth it.
