My neighbor's fence is 2 inches over the property line and I'm not fighting it
Everyone on here says to get a survey and sue, but the legal fees would be over $5k and I'd have to see him in court for years. I just planted a row of arborvitae on my side and called it a day. Has anyone else just let a small encroachment go to keep the peace?

Honestly that's the smart move. Sometimes the cost of being right is way higher than just letting a couple inches slide.

Yeah, miles946 gets it... you win the court case and lose a neighbor, then spend the next decade listening to their dog bark at 6 a.m. over that exact two-inch strip. The principle tastes great but the long-term bill is always way higher.

What's the actual harm from two inches of fence? People act like property lines are sacred ground, but you're just giving up a sliver of dirt you'd never use. Seems like a lot of fuss over nothing.
