My neighbor's dog has now dug 27 holes under our shared fence

I mean, I started counting after the fifth one, but hitting 27 this week just blew my mind. It's a German Shepherd named Zeus, and the owner just shrugs and says 'he's a digger'. I've had to fill in every single one myself, which takes about an hour each time with the clay soil here. Has anyone else had to deal with a dog that just will not stop, and what finally worked?

Read about a guy who buried chicken wire flat under the fence line. He said the dog's paws hit it and they just give up after a few tries. Might be worth a shot before you lose another weekend to filling holes. Your neighbor's attitude is the real problem though. That shrug would make me see red after the tenth hole. You're being way too nice about this.

Oh wow, an hour each time to fill them? That's crazy. I think you meant the holes are under the fence, not in it. That's even more work.

Seriously, that's a whole weekend gone! Shane's chicken wire idea sounds way better than just filling dirt forever... my cousin did that and his dog stopped digging in like two days. Some neighbors just don't get it.
