My neighbor's 2 a.m. sprinkler war got me fined $75, and I'm the one apologizing?
Three years ago I moved next to a guy on Juniper Street who runs his sprinklers at 2 a.m. every night, and the overspray soaked my driveway and my siding for months. Last month I finally put up a 6 foot cedar fence on my side of the line, and he called the city saying I blocked his view. The inspector came out last Tuesday armed with a tape measure and a copy of the plat map, and it turns out his sprinkler heads sit 14 inches onto my property. Everyone in the neighborhood Facebook group says I should have just talked to him first, but I tried that twice in 2022 and he slammed the door on me. Has anyone here actually gotten a neighbor to move a sprinkler line without hiring a lawyer?
