I just hit 100 noise complaints filed against the same neighbor.

It's a number that really made me stop and think about how long this has gone on. We moved into our house in 2012, and the loud weekend parties started about six months later. I started keeping a log after the tenth time the police came out. It's not just the parties anymore, it's daily bass thumping from his car stereo. Has anyone else ever kept a formal count like this, and did it help your case with the city?

Remember my old apartment had a guy who would practice bagpipes at 3am. Started keeping a log just like you, but for weird smells instead of noise. It got so detailed the landlord thought I was nuts until the sewer line finally burst under his unit. Your count is brutal proof, man. That kind of paper trail is the only thing that ever gets lazy city workers to lift a finger.

My old neighbor's log had 47 distinct smell entries before they found the dead raccoon in the wall. That kind of data is what finally got the health department out there.

Had a buddy who tracked a weird sweet smell in his garage for weeks. He wrote down the date and how strong it was every single time. The log is what made the pest guy check the attic, where a rat had died in the insulation.
