I finally got my neighbor to trim the oak tree with one photo
After two years of asking Ron to cut the branches hanging over my garage roof, I snapped a picture during the last storm and showed him the scratches on my car from a falling limb. He came over that Saturday with a chainsaw and took down the whole low side. Cost me nothing but a six pack of his usual IPA and some patience. Has anyone else had luck with visual proof over vocal complaints?
The part about "two years of asking Ron" really gets me because I went through almost the exact same thing with my own neighbor. We had this dead branch hanging right over the fence line and I must have brought it up like five or six times over the course of a year, always real polite about it, and every time he'd say yeah yeah I'll get to it. Nothing ever happened. It wasn't until a chunk of it came down in a windstorm and nearly hit his own dog that he finally got out there with a saw. So I totally get the frustration of feeling like your words just go in one ear and out the other. Some people honestly can't picture a problem until they see it with their own eyes, which is annoying but I guess it's just how some folks are wired. Smart move getting that picture during the storm, that was probably what did it.
