Found out my neighbor's dog has been barking 14 hours a day for 2 years straight

I looked up our city noise ordinance last week because I was losing my mind. Turns out there's a limit of 10 minutes of continuous barking before it's a violation. I called the non-emergency line today and they told me I need a log book with timestamps and signatures from 3 other neighbors. Has anyone actually gotten one of these enforced?

Actually recording on my phone worked way better than a written log. I just set my phone on the windowsill and hit record every time it started, saved a few clips with timestamps. My neighbor tried to say I was exaggerating so I played back a 45 minute stretch and he shut up quick. The city officer told me they rarely do anything unless you have audio proof, not just paper. What kind of phone do you have, can it pick up sound from a distance?

That 45 minute recording trick from @leelewis makes a lot of sense actually, I used to think the written log would be enough but audio proof carries way more weight with the city.
