Fence line complaint from a retired guy made me rethink my whole garden setup
My neighbor Carl, who lives behind me, walked over two weeks ago and said my tomato cages were leaning into his yard and dropping rotten fruit on his grass. He kept it cool but told me I had to move them back at least 3 feet from the fence line. I was annoyed at first because I've been planting the same spot for 5 years... but he was right about the mess. I ended up pulling out 8 cages and rebuilding my raised beds about 4 feet closer to my house. Now I have less space but his lawn stays clean and he even offered to split the cost of new topsoil. Has anyone else had a neighbor actually give useful feedback about yard stuff?

Moved mine back after a similar chat and honestly the extra sunlight was a game changer.

Did you have to move anything else to make the light work better? I ended up swapping out my sheer curtains for something with a higher light factor and that helped a ton too. The spot I picked gets full morning sun but it was still being blocked by the material. Now the plants are way happier and I don't have to rotate them as much.
