Can we talk about the fence debate splitting my block: cedar vs chain link
My neighbor put up a 6 foot chain link fence along our property line three weeks ago without saying a word to me first, and now half the block thinks he did nothing wrong. His side says it was his money, his yard, and a fence is a fence. My side says a chain link fence in a neighborhood where everyone has wood or vinyl is basically a middle finger made of wire. I had the same choice two summers ago and went with 4 foot cedar pickets for $2,800 because I wanted the yard to still feel like a yard. He spent about $900 and got it done in a weekend. So is the rule that you can build whatever you want on your side, or is there some unwritten agreement that you match the block? Anybody got a strong take here?
