Saw a guy at the Columbus flea market selling 'pre-seasoned' cast iron he scrubbed with dish soap
I was walking the aisles at the flea market off Rt 40 in Columbus two Sundays back and this guy had a table of cast iron skillets he was calling pre-seasoned. Watched him pull one out of a soapy bucket, rinse it under a hose, and hand it to a buyer for $25. That layer he was bragging about was straight up dish soap and water. If you bought iron from that table, please strip it and start over, because soap kills seasoning every time.
