The hand-blown glass vase my aunt gave me for my birthday had a literal crack in it
I found out from a glassblower on YouTube that those tiny bubbles near the bottom aren’t air pockets, they’re stress fractures from cooling too fast, so basically she gave me a ticking time bomb that shattered on my counter 6 days later.

That crack might have been there for a reason though. Aunt probably knew it was a factory second and figured you wouldn't notice since it was tucked near the bottom. Maybe she was testing if you'd actually use it or just let it sit around collecting dust like most gifts.

That crack just looks like normal wear and tear to me, not some secret test from Aunt Linda.
