Shoutout to my aunt for the single sock she gave me for Christmas
She wrapped it up in a fancy box with a bow and everything, and when I opened it, it was just one white tube sock with a blue stripe. I asked her if maybe she lost the other one, and she said 'No, it's a sock for your phone, you put your phone in it.' Has anyone else gotten a gift so useless you just stared at them?

...and did she actually DEMONSTRATE how you're supposed to use it? Because I NEED to know if she pulled out her own phone and slid it inside that sock like it was normal. Was she serious or was this some kind of elaborate joke that just didn't land? The thing that gets me is the fancy box with the bow, like she put real THOUGHT into wrapping a single sock. That extra effort makes it so much more confusing than if she just handed it to you loose.

The fancy box with the bow is what gets me too, because it means she had to look at that single sock and think, 'Yep, this needs the full gift wrapping treatment.' I'm pretty sure I'd just stare at it for five seconds, laugh at my own confusion, and then shove it in my pocket so I could awkwardly change the subject. Honestly, I probably would have done the same thing if I was her, because my gift-giving game is so weak I once wrapped a power bank for a friend's birthday and didn't realize it wasn't a phone until she opened it.
