Got a "gently used" single sock from my cousin at the family Christmas party last year

I was so confused until she said it was part of a "minimalist challenge" she was doing, has anyone else gotten a gift that was literally just trash from someone's house?

Minimalist challenge sounds like a fancy way of saying "I cleaned out my closet and you got the leftovers." At least she gave you a whole sock and not just a lint ball.

Count me in on this one (and I'm laughing because it's way too real). My sister did the same thing last year, claimed she was "decluttering her soul" or whatever, and handed me a bag of stuff that had her dog's hair woven into every single item. I opened it up and found three mismatched Tupperware lids, a single flip-flop, and a power cord for a phone I'm pretty sure nobody has owned since 2012. I was supposed to feel grateful, I think, but mostly I just felt like her personal Goodwill drop-off spot with a family discount.
