Beware the fruitcake that keeps coming back like a bad penny

I visited my aunt's house last Christmas and noticed the same fruitcake sitting on her counter that she regifted to me three years ago. Turns out she's been passing that same cursed loaf around the family since 2019 and nobody has the heart to toss it. Has anyone else gotten stuck with a gift that just won't go away?

Man I gotta disagree here. That fruitcake is a family tradition now, and tossing it would be like breaking a sacred pact. My uncle has been passing around the same dusty bottle of peppermint schnapps since 2005, and honestly it's become a running joke at every holiday gathering. If nobody's actually eating the thing, maybe just embrace the weirdness and keep the game going.

My grandma's been regifting the same basket of bath salts since 2012. I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna be buried with them at this point.
