Accidentally paid $80 for a date that wasn't even with me
Matched with a guy from a dating app, he picked a sushi spot in Austin. He showed up late, looked annoyed, and then his phone rang. He answered, said 'yeah babe' and walked outside for 10 minutes. When he came back he said 'my girlfriend thinks we're just friends, so this is weird' and left before the check came. The waitress handed me the bill for both his drinks and my roll, $80 total. I paid it because I was too shocked to argue, has anyone else gotten stuck with the tab after someone dipped mid-date?

Wait, you paid the full $80 instead of just your roll and maybe half his drinks? The waitress was probably just following the table number, not trying to scam you, so you had every right to ask for a split check after he bailed. Next time, flag the manager and explain the situation, they usually cut the bill in half or comp the weirdo's drinks just to keep the peace.
