Hiked the Pemi Loop last fall and the bog bridges were more wrecked than I expected

Some of those planks were so rotted I nearly went knee deep in mud twice near the Bondcliff section. Has anyone else seen that kind of trail neglect on popular loops or was it just bad timing?

...and that's kind of how things are going everywhere now. @thea857 is right about the waders, but it's not just trails. I noticed the same sort of sliding at my town's playground last summer, bolts loose and wood splintering on the slides. Nobody stays on top of basic maintenance until something breaks.

Was that trail maintained by a beaver with a grudge or something? I did the Pemi Loop two years ago and the bog bridges were already looking sketchy, but it sounds like they've gotten way worse. Honestly at this point you're better off just bringing a pair of waders and hoping for the best. The AMC needs to send a crew out there with some fresh lumber before someone takes an unexpected mud bath.
