Can we talk about how a 71 year old guy at REI in Boise changed my whole pack weight plan
I ran into this guy named Walt near the boot section and he asked how many miles I was doing on the Sawtooth loop. When I said 40 over 3 days he looked at my 38 pound pack and just laughed. He pulled out his own pack, 19 pounds for a 5 day trip, and told me he stopped carrying a camp chair and a second stove years ago. Now I am staring at my gear list wondering what else I am hauling for no reason. What is the one thing you finally left at home and never missed?
