TIL that choosing a paid guest post over a free forum link was a total flop

Had to pick between a $100 guest post on a niche blog or a free link in a forum thread. I went with the paid option cause it looked fancier. Guest post got 12 views in a month. Forum thread? Blew up with 500 clicks in a week. Guess I should stick to the scrappy stuff next time. Anyone else regret spending cash on backlinks?

Wait, did the forum thread have a dofollow link or was it nofollow? Cause forum links are usually nofollow and still got you way more traffic than that paid guest post which is kinda wild if you think about it.
