TIL paid guest post placements on low traffic blogs are dead money
Burned $300 on 10 guest posts across sites that supposedly had DR 40+, got maybe 12 clicks total and Google showed zero movement, so what are people actually using in 2025 that moves the needle for local service sites?

Oh man, I feel this one in my wallet. I once paid $150 for a "premium" guest post on a site that I'm pretty sure was run by a guy and his cat, and the cat was doing most of the writing. My traffic spike was maybe three visits, and two of those were probably me checking if it went live. Honestly, at this point I'd have better luck setting my money on fire and using the smoke as a signal to Google. For local service stuff, I've had way more luck just hitting up local community blogs and Facebook groups, places where real humans actually click. Stop chasing DR numbers and start chasing actual people reading the site.
