Threw $300 at a 'premium' link building service and got nothing back
I paid a service $300 to build links for my gardening blog and all I got were a bunch of spammy posts on sites that looked like they were made in 1998. Has anyone else fallen for one of these link building packages and actually managed to get a refund?

Read somewhere that most of those "premium" services just use automated software to spam links from garbage sites.

Wait did your friend try to get their money back? I remember my buddy Mark paid like $250 for a "premium" link package for his little woodworking site and got hit with 40 links from sites that were just spun articles about payday loans. He ended up having to file a chargeback with his credit card company and sent them screenshots of the junk links, and they actually refunded him in like 2 weeks. The service kept saying they'd "fix it" but just ghosted him after the chargeback went through.
