The guest post guy who said link outreach is just dating, and why that stuck with me
Last year I met this older SEO guy named Ray at a small meetup in Portland, and we got to talking about outreach emails over bad coffee. He said most people send link requests like a desperate texter, all "hey just following up!!" and no real reason for the other person to care. He told me he spends 20 minutes reading a site before he ever pitches, and his reply rate jumped from about 3% to nearly 15% on cold outreach. I tried it for a campaign last quarter and got 4 links from 30 emails, which is way better than my usual 1 for 30. Does anyone else spend that much time upfront, or is that just too slow to scale?
