That Tuesday when 12 guest posts all got rejected in one day
Last spring I had this crazy day where I submitted 12 guest posts to different blogs in my niche and every single one came back rejected by 5pm. One editor said my article was too salesy but I literally wrote it like a tutorial, no links until the author bio. I spent like 3 hours rewriting each pitch and resubmitting 8 of them to other sites, which felt like throwing spaghetti at a wall. Out of that chaos, two actually got published a month later and one even pulled in a decent amount of referral traffic. Has anyone else had a day where everything got denied but then something random saved it all?
My buddy Dave ran a food truck for two years and he said the same thing happened with his menu, he'd try ten new items and nine would flop, then one weird taco would pay his rent for three months. There's this pattern I keep seeing where the sheer number of shots you take matters way more than how perfect each one is. People hate hearing that because it feels sloppy, like you're just guessing instead of being smart about it. But the twelve rejections and two wins thing is how it works everywhere, job hunts, dating, cold emails, whatever. You can't predict which one lands, so the only real move is to keep the volume up and let the numbers sort it out. It stings in the moment but the math is on your side if you don't quit after one bad Tuesday.
