That guest post link building service I paid $200 for just got deindexed by Google

Paid a guy on Upwork $200 for a 5-site guest post package, and 3 months later all 5 links got blown out of the index. Anyone else been burned by cheap link services that look good at first but fall apart later?

$200 for 5 sites is like $40 per link which is super cheap in the SEO world. I did the exact same thing a couple years back with a Fiverr gig that promised "high authority guest posts" and every single one got nuked within 4 months. The problem is those cheap services usually use blogs that look real but are actually just PBNs or sites with zero editorial review. You might get lucky for a few months but Google always catches them eventually. Next time try to spend at least $100-$150 per link on a service that actually shows you the site metrics and has real editorial guidelines.

Yeah, that tracks with what happened to a buddy of mine who bought a $200 package like that and watched all his links vanish in 6 months. @margaret_kelly55 is right, these cheap gigs are basically throwing money at a ticking time bomb.
