yeah but 60% could just be seasonal traffic not the links

Used to think seasonal swings explained most bumps but @tyler6's point about dead link clusters makes more sense here. A 60% jump is pretty unusual even for peak season in most niches, so cleaning out broken paths probably freed up some real ranking potential. Do you track your crawl error reports or just rely on the analytics side?

Read somewhere that Google's algorithm actually flags dead link clusters pretty hard, so cleaning those out could definitely trigger a real bump. Makes sense if they were in key pages.
