Picked up a backlink tip from a random convo at a coffee shop in Austin

Some guy at Sightseer Coffee in Austin told me to stop chasing .edu links and instead offer free data visualizations to niche blogs. I tried it with a local gardening site and got 3 backlinks in 2 weeks. Anyone else find a weird source like that?

Nah, data viz backlinks are just a fad that'll die out next month.
