Dropped $200 on a backlink service and got nothing but spam links from a farm in Bangladesh
I figured I'd save time and bought a package from some guy on Fiverr promising 50 high-quality backlinks. Two weeks later, my site got flagged by Google for unnatural links and all I got were 47 garbage links from a site called 'bestproducts-bd.info'. Has anyone else dealt with a backlink network that did way more harm than good?

Fiverr backlinks are almost always garbage in my experience.

Not quite true in my experience. Fiverr is just a marketplace, the quality depends on who you pick. I've gotten solid contextual links from a guy who runs actual niche blogs. Cost me like $30 and got a real .edu link in a relevant article. The trick is looking at their samples and avoiding the ones promising 50 links for $10. If someone claims "DA 90 guaranteed" for five bucks, yeah it's trash. But dig a little, find sellers who show real sites and real traffic. Just takes more work than buying the cheapest thing.
