The "you talk too much" comment that saved my second dates
Met this guy from Bumble at a coffee shop in Austin last month. Halfway through I was telling some long story about my cousin's wedding and he just said, "you talk too much when you're nervous." Ouch, but he was right. I used to fill every silence with rambling because I thought quiet meant boring. Now I count to three before answering and I ask one follow-up question before sharing my own story. Went on another date last week and the convo actually had a rhythm to it. Has anyone else gotten a blunt critique from a date that actually improved things?

Did he stick around long enough to hear your cousin's toast, or was that the end of it? My blunt critique moment came from a guy who told me I laughed at my own jokes too loud, which honestly stung for a week before I realized he had a point.
