The candlelit picnic that turned into a bug buffet
Back in 2016 I planned this big romantic picnic at a park near Lake Harriet, candles and all. The wind kept blowing them out and then the ants found the cheese board, so we ate cold sandwiches in the car with the windows up. Have you ever had a fancy plan backfire so hard you just laughed the whole ride home?

Man, that sounds rough but honestly hilarious in hindsight. Laughing the whole ride home is the only way to handle that. We did something similar with a beach sunset dinner once, sand got everywhere including the pasta. The candles and ants thing is a classic combo though. At least you got a story out of it, those are the best memories sometimes. Cold sandwiches and car windows beat bugs any day.
