That time my date's friend made me rethink how I talk about work
I went on this date last month at a coffee shop in Austin and it was going nowhere fast. We were both clearly forcing conversation, so her friend stopped by and just straight up said 'you sound like you're giving a presentation, not having a conversation.' It hit different because she was right. I spent like 10 minutes explaining property management details nobody asked about. Has anyone else had a third party call them out on something that actually made future dates go better?

That study is 100% accurate. My brain basically does a full shutdown the second someone starts rambling about spreadsheets or quarterly whatever. Thirty seconds is being generous honestly. People need to learn to get to the point instead of making everything a whole presentation.
