Rant: Why does every first date turn into an interview? I finally cracked
Went on a date last weekend with a girl from Hinge. Within 5 minutes she was asking me about my 5 year plan, what my love language is, and if I want kids. Felt like she was reading off a checklist she found on TikTok. I get wanting to know someone, but it's like people forget dates are supposed to be fun. What happened to just letting a conversation flow naturally? Has anyone else stopped caring about "vetting" and just started enjoying the awkward mess of getting to know someone?

Wait, she asked about a 5 year plan on the first date? That's wild. I'd have been halfway out the door after that one.

Halfway out the door? @grant_hart I'd have been in the car with the engine running. A five year plan on a first date is like asking for someone's credit score before you know their last name. It's a trap. She's either auditioning you for a role in her life movie or testing how much you'll tolerate early on. Either way, you're not dating her, you're interviewing for a position. Smart move walking away.
