Overheard a waitress say 'he ordered filet mignon on the first date' and realized I was that guy

Took my date to a steakhouse last Friday and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu trying to impress her, but she later told my buddy's girlfriend I came off as trying too hard.

Price tag doesn't tell you anything about someone's character or intentions on a date.

Did you ask what she wanted to drink and let her order first? That way you match her vibe instead of guessing blind.
