One week in March I had two dates and both ended with the guy asking to split the bill to the penny
So two weeks ago I went out with a guy from an app to a pizza place in Columbus, and when the check came he pulled out a calculator to figure out my exact share, down to the tax on his extra beer. Then that Friday a different guy did almost the same thing at a taco spot, only he asked if I could Venmo him $1.37 for the chips we shared. I sat in my car after both and just laughed because it felt like a weird streak, not just bad luck. The calculator thing bugged me more than the money, like we were at a work lunch and not a date. Is splitting to the cent normal now, or did I just hit a strange week?
