My reusable utensils turned a nice dinner into a silent mess
We went to a fancy spot for our first date. I pulled out my own bamboo forks to cut down on plastic waste. She gave me this look like I was from another planet. The rest of the night was just quiet and super uncomfortable. I guess being green isn't always a hit on dates.

But honestly, this happens all the time. You try to do something good for the planet, and people act like you're breaking some unspoken rule. Like when you bring your own cup to a coffee shop and the barista stares you down. Why is it so hard for folks to get that small changes matter? We're so used to convenience that any step out of line feels like a personal attack. It's not about being green on dates, it's about how we've made normal what's actually harmful.

Yeah, the barista stare is real. Do you think it's more about them being annoyed by the extra step, or just that it's genuinely weird to them now?

Agree completely with your point. Small changes shake up what everyone sees as normal. When you bring your own cup, it makes others think about their waste, and that can be unsettling. Our whole economy is set up for quick, easy choices that hurt the planet. Companies push convenience because it sells, and we go along with it. If we keep doing these small things, though, we can slowly shift what's accepted.
