We set a time for the movies. I arrived early to grab seats. She sent a text saying she was delayed. I stood outside in the rain, getting wet. She pulled up in her car, perfectly dry, just as the film began.

Last Thursday at the grocery store parking lot, I saw someone make their friend wait in the rain. The friend was holding bags while the driver stayed cozy inside. It's not about staying dry, it's about basic human decency. Waiting in the rain is what you do for a pizza delivery, not a person. But hey, maybe she was protecting the upholstery from damp clothes.
