My date spent the whole meal talking about his ex's cat
He went into detail about the cat's litter box habits for at least ten minutes. I just sat there nodding while eating my burger. Has anyone else had a date get stuck on one weird topic like that?

I once spent twenty minutes explaining the plot of a cartoon my dog watches to a woman at a coffee shop. She asked what my pet did all day and I just... kept going. At least a cat's litter box is a real thing.

Actually, the litter box talk is way more real than a cartoon plot. At least the cat thing happened.

Oh man, the cartoon plot is way worse! At least with the litter box you can kind of see the weird logic, like maybe he's just a nervous talker. But launching into a full show recap for a pet? That's next level. I mean, you have to realize halfway through that you're describing a cartoon to a grown adult. It's like their brain just latches onto the first thing and won't let go. I'd probably just zone out and start wondering what my own dog thinks about when he watches TV.
