My date ordered for me at a steakhouse in Denver and got it all wrong

He told the waiter I'd have the ribeye medium well with a loaded baked potato, but I'm actually a vegetarian and had planned to get the portobello mushroom entree. I just sat there staring at my plate while he ate his meal, and he never even noticed. What would you have done in that situation, just eat the sides or speak up?

Why didn't you just tell him you don't eat meat when he ordered?

But come on, is it REALLY that big of a deal? People order for each other all the time. Maybe he was just trying to be nice and pick something he thought you'd like. Getting this upset over a burger order feels like looking for a reason to be mad. It's not like he forced you to eat it, you could have just said something.
