My date at The Rusty Anchor last Friday went sideways over the bill
So I'm out with this guy, Mark, and the check comes. He just stares at it for like a full minute, then says 'So, how do you want to do this?' I had to choose between suggesting we split it or just paying the whole $78 myself to end the awkwardness. I went with splitting, but the whole vibe was dead after that. Anyone else had a date ruined by the bill moment?

Honestly, the Rusty Anchor bill thing seems like a weird hill to die on. If a $78 check kills the vibe, maybe the vibe wasn't that strong to begin with.

Doesn't this just show how we've made money into a weird test? That awkward silence over the check is really about checking values, not just dollars. It's a small moment that tells you a lot.
