Lost $120 on a speed dating setup in Phoenix, total scam

I paid 120 bucks for a speed dating event last Saturday and got maybe 8 minutes total with each person. The host kept stopping us early to push some 'premium matching' addon for another 50 dollars. Has anyone else had this happen at those events or did I just hit a bad organizer?

That host sounds like a used car salesman with a stopwatch. Went to one in Scottsdale a couple years back, paid 90 bucks, and the guy spent half the event talking about his own dating app. Got cut off mid-sentence three times so he could plug a "wine mixer" that was just his buddy's bar. Never got a single match, but at least the free pretzels were decent.
