Dang that is brutal but I gotta say it happens more than people think. Had a girl cancel on me for coffee once and I walked into the same Starbucks to grab a drink for my buddy who was having a rough day. There she was in the corner with some other dude laughing and having a great time. I was so torn between walking out and just sitting down at the table next to them to make it super awkward. Ended up just grabbing my drink and leaving because I didn't want to cause a scene but man it still stings thinking about it. You handled that way better than I would have honestly. How did you not just say something to her?

Nah, I gotta disagree a little. Sometimes people bail for real reasons that have nothing to do with you, like a family thing or work emergency. Calling it a bullet dodge feels like you're putting a positive spin on something that just sucks.
