Guy at a bar told me I laugh too loud on dates. Fixed it.
Was on a third date with this guy from Hinge at a pretty quiet place downtown. He leans in and goes 'you know your laugh carries across the whole room right?' That stung. I thought being loud was just being lively. But I kept noticing how people would turn and stare. So I started practicing lower volume laughs at home alone. Like literally in front of a mirror. Next date I toned it way down and it actually felt more natural. Even got a compliment about my 'charming chuckle' from someone new last weekend. Has anyone else changed a basic habit based on date feedback?

Aw honey, that's tough. I don't think there's anything wrong with being lively, but I get wanting to fit in better. Good for you for finding a way to feel more comfortable, though.

Feel for you on this one. It's hard hearing something like that about yourself, but good on you for finding a middle ground that still feels like you.
