TIL the FAA has a 30 day rule for logbook corrections I never knew about
Was going through some old paperwork from my last job in Denver and stumbled on an advisory circular I'd never read close. Turns out if you make a mistake in a logbook entry, you can't just white it out or scribble over it. You have to draw a single line through it, initial it, and date it, and the correction has to happen within 30 days or it's considered falsification. I've been doing avionics for 11 years and nobody ever told me that. My old boss always said just scratch it and move on. Has anyone else run into this or am I the only one who got trained lazy?

Is it just me, or is that how it goes with everything these days... people skip the rules till someone makes a big deal out of it?
