That $30 borescope I laughed at just found a broken pin in 4 minutes

I spent 2 hours last Tuesday chasing a comm fault in a 737 trays rack at MRO, pulling connectors and testing continuity blind, then the shop lead handed me his cheap borescope and told me to look at the back of the cannon plug. Sure enough, pin 34 was snapped off right at the socket, something I would've never seen without bending my head like a pretzel. Anyone else have a tool they mocked at first but now use every week?
