Rant: Took me 11 hours to chase down a bad pin in a cannon plug

I had an intermittent VHF comm issue on a King Air 200 that turned out to be one slightly backed-out pin in a cannon plug behind the panel, and it took 11 hours of wiggle tests before I caught it. I was pulling my hair out and my crimper got a workout, but that click when the pin finally seated right was worth it. Any of you got a trick for finding those flaky pins faster?

Wiggle tests for 11 hours" sounds like my dating strategy, lots of touching and still no connection.
