Ran into a wiring mess on a CRJ900 at LAX last night
We pulled the overhead panel on this CRJ900 to trace a flickering display light. Somebody had used zip ties way too tight and crimped three wires together, causing a short. How often do you guys find stuff like that from previous techs on older airframes?

Somebody had used zip ties way too tight and crimped three wires together" - wow, that's insane. I can't believe someone would crank them down that hard on a multiwire bundle, it's asking for trouble. Stuff like that makes you wonder how some of these planes are still flying honestly.
