Just realized the fuel tank connector on a 737 is keyed so you can't cross plug it
Was talking with a guy named Ray who has 22 years on the line at DFW and he mentioned the fuel quantity connector is physically keyed so you can't plug it into the wrong tank. I always assumed it was just a color code thing but no, the pins are different. Spent an hour last Tuesday going through the wiring diagram on our 800 and sure enough, the keyway is offset differently on each one. Has anyone else run into a plane where that key got filed down by someone in a hurry?
