Just had a DME vs. non-DME argument with a coworker on a 737 harness job
He swore by the OEM DME units from Collins, but I've been using the cheaper non-DME replacements from a smaller shop for the last 2 years. I've put about 200 hours on three of them and haven't had a single failure or glitch. He spent $800 more per unit for basically the same performance. Anyone else run into techs who refuse to trust non-OEM parts even when the data backs them up?

Damn, that's wild. @oliviat17 are you tracking the runtime yourself or is that from a log? Just curious how you're measuring it.
