Had a passenger on a bizjet insist my multimeter was a bomb detector for 10 minutes before his colleague shut him up

Guy in the back of a Gulfstream at KSAN grabs my Fluke 87V off the cart and starts waving it around asking if it goes off near lithium batteries, and I just stood there watching him play with it until his partner yelled "Bob that's a goddamn multimeter put it down" - anyone else get weird questions from passengers who wander onto the ramp?

Best thing you can do is keep your tools locked in the cart until you're actually working, saves you from having to explain what a voltmeter is to someone who probably shouldn't be near the plane anyway. Most of those guys are just bored and looking for something to mess with, so a quick "that's my test equipment, let me put it away real quick" usually stops it before it starts. Had a similar thing happen with a set of feeler gauges that someone thought was some kind of secret security device.
