How they unloaded cars at the dealership changed a lot between 2005 and last Tuesday
I was at a Chevy dealer in Omaha last Tuesday picking up a truck and watched their transport guy unload three cars in about 12 minutes. Twenty years ago I did the same job and a full load of nine took most of an afternoon. The driver now has a remote in his pocket that tilts each deck by itself, where we cranked every ramp by hand and hoped nobody was standing behind it. He also straps the tires down with nylon over the rims, not the old chains we ran through the frame, so there is way less paint damage. Honestly it looks safer, but I cannot tell if it is actually faster or if he was just showing off because I was watching. Anybody else remember fighting those hand cranks in the rain, or am I the last guy who worked the old decks?
